Once beamtime has been scheduled, the Principal Investigator (PI) and Alternate Contact (AC) will receive notification. From this point, the PI and AC can inform the User Office online of their Arrival and Sample information.
The beamtime visit should be appropriately manned by competent users to ensure full use of beamtime.
As soon as arrival information has been submitted by the Principal Investigator (PI), the User Office will make accommodation bookings.
Note: once submitted, modifications to the arrival information can only be made by the User Office. In such circumstances, the PI should email the User Office.
Please let us know if you would like a later checkout or early check in since the User Office can enquire with Ridgeway at the time of booking.
The user must inform the User Office if accommodation is no longer required. Normally this should be at least one week before scheduled beamtime to enable the room to be reallocated. If this does not occur then Diamond Light Source may reduce the quantity of accommodation available to that establishment on their next visit. If scheduled beamtime is cancelled due to problems with the synchrotron then the User Office will cancel accommodation as soon as possible.
In the event that Ridgeway House is full, the User Office will identify alternative local accommodation.
